121 Main Street - former Souderton Furniture Mart

This beautiful, spacious, brick building, in its current state represents a “Vanilla Shell”, an “Open Canvas” for a creative mind.  It’s the ideal space for a fine dining establishment, with plenty of room for a large banquet section, as well as ample area for smaller parties wanting to share quite moments and indulge in the historical romance.

There is an upper level that could be renovated into professional office spaces or perhaps an independent retail hobby shop that would compliment the tastes of those dining, tempting them to browse some before sitting down for a cocktail.

Brief History

This Colonial Revival architecture. Theobald & Oppenheimer opened a cigar factory in this building in 1899. The building was sold to H.B. Grawley Cigar Manufacturer in 1900, and continued producing cigars until 1912. It then changed owners and became the Baum and Jaffee Company until 1914.

After lying vacant for awhile, the building was converted to textile production, as were many cigar factories of that time, and became the Cheltenham Towel Mills. This continued for years until it became the Souderton Furniture Mart.
